100s discover all things STEM.
Today all the 100s travelled off to Malvern to experience a day of all things STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). The pupils were invited along with other schools to meet companies and institutions that live and breathe these key areas of the curriculum. (I would say that as a maths teacher!)
They tried programming Microbits, Raspberry Pi's, visited companies that specialised in Virtual Reality, talked to companies that work with nano materials, in defence, explored Heath Robinson experiments, learnt about Quantum Mechanics, watched 3D printing in plastic and chocolate! and saw the range of possibilities if they followed their interest in these subjects and how they link together.
The pupils were a pleasure to take and hopefully this will now be an annual event for Abberley pupils.
