Abberley Aces (B1) vs Lucton

A collaboration between Abberley As and Cs made the Abberley Aces today and they were excited to take on Lucton Bs.

At the start, the match was fast moving and quite even. Both teams shared possession of the ball well and enjoyed the challenge of gaining possession of the ball and keeping hold of it. The final stage of our mantra, putting in in the net, came more easily for us this time too; both Anastasia and Alex scored in the first six minutes. The score at quarter time was 2 - 0 to Abberley.

The second quarter saw some lovely play, with Monica, who was in high spirits, making some impressive interceptions and Alex and Darcy working hard to feed the ball into the circle. After a few missed attempts, Alex and Anastasia both managed to score another goal each. Lucton made us work hard for possession but did not score any goals themselves, so the score at half time was 4-0.

The third quarter was not as strong for Abberley; we lost some form and resorted to bunching again, which was a shame. Rosanna and Violet had much more work to do in defence. However, it was great to see them reading the game well and making some good interceptions. Rosie moved to goal shooter in this quarter and marked her arrival with a great goal, taking the score to 5 - 0.

After a rousing team talk, the final quarter was by far our best. Columns were re-established, dodging was more effective and even our shooting accuracy improved. We scored an impressive five goals in this quarter.
The final score was 10 - 0 to Abberley Aces.
