Abberley U12/13s combine to score a win at Dean Close.

Following a highly physical and exhausting warm-up the Abberley U12/13s took to the field against a stunned Dean Close team.  Out of the blocks like Usain Bolt, they charged after the ball that had been drop-kicked deep into the opposition’s half.  A frantic struggle for its possession on the floor ensued and Felix came up with it.  He pinned his ears back and side-stepped his way to the line for the first of his 4 tries. Harry led the side from the front, tackling everything that moved, clearing every ruck and scoring a scintillating try himself.  Archie too got onto the score sheet, thanks to his dancing feet that mesmerised the Dean Close defence.  Without a doubt though, due to his work-rate, physicality and sheer determination, Jaspar was man of the match.  He scored two tries to boot.  Despite his efforts this was first and foremost a team effort though.  Thanks to dazzling contributions from Arthur, Freddie, Elliott, William and John Abberley won lots of possession and were able to defend solidly.  Dean Close were not discouraged, however, fighting back hard, until the end, scoring 3 tries themselves.
