The Activities Programme is a special part of Abberley Hall life, giving our pupils breadth of horizons and ambition.
It is what happens outside the classroom that makes the difference between a good boarding school and an outstanding one.
Each member of staff offers two evening activities from their own areas of interest for boarding and day pupils after supper. Activities offered vary from sporting activities such as five a-side football, swimming sessions, touch rugby, cycling, indoor hockey, tennis, cricket nets, badminton, 2.2 shooting, fencing, ballet and dance; to art activities such as ceramics, enamelling, workshop sessions and extra art sessions.
Academic support sessions are offered in Science, French, Maths, Latin and Greek.
There are a host of other activities provided by imaginative and enthusiastic staff such as origami, debating, The Abberley Newspaper, strategy games, 3D printing, Scottish dancing, cooking and bee keeping.
The school has a riding arena and livery service with qualified BHS instructors. Children have the opportunity to bring their own ponies to school and are able to ride thsee both in the arena and out on hacks around our extensive grounds. We have an equestrian team which competes for the school in national and regional competitions.
We run a range of exciting activities at weekends using the many and varied facilities within the school grounds and beyond. We also organise trips to centres such as GoApe, the Tamworth Snowdome, The Forest of Dean, West Midlands Safari Park and the Wolf Sanctuary in Shropshire where we adopting a she-wolf.
The children are encouraged to enjoy the grounds during evening activities and weekends and can participate in many outdoor activities including fishing, walking, camping, woodland crafts, mountain biking and cooking in the outdoor pizza oven.
