We welcome pupils at Abberley Hall from all over the world. We have a qualified EAL teacher who analyses the needs and expectations of each child as they enter the school. This approach enables the individual to get the most out of their time here and achieve their potential both academically and socially. The ambition of our whole team here is to stimulate our community’s curiosity to explore everything in this age of multiculturalism.

Welcoming pupils from various countries to Abberley Hall brings diversity, excitement and awareness. Students have the opportunity to form lifelong connections with children from all over the world, enabling them to become better prepared to becoming global citizens.

"The culture in which we are raised, does not only affect our values and outlook. They also shape our bodies and may even restructure our brain."  Ken Robinson - World-renowned creativity expert, British speaker and international advisor on Education.

Children who come to Abberley for an academic year are encouraged to take the internationally-recognised Cambridge B1/B2 level examination.

In the past few years, Abberley Hall students had 100% Pass for PET/B1 with 60% Merits and 100% First Certificate.

Lessons and charges

Our 2021/22 charges for the EAL lessons are as follows:-

Individual lesson (40 mins of tuition) - £28 per pupil and these are scheduled into the pupil’s individual timetable. This can also be divided between two (£14 each) or three (£9.50 each) pupils.

Generally we advise a pupil to join a group of two or three first and contact will be made with parents to assess after a few weeks if they would like to book individual lessons or stay as part of a group.

We make sure our EAL offering is flexible to ensure each pupil's needs are catered for.
