An action packed weekend at Abberley
Report – All-In Weekend
2nd and 3rd February 2019
We had an action packed weekend on this first weekend of the Six Nations Championship. Saturday began with some good hockey fixtures for the Under 11 boys and some good netball fixtures for the girls. Unfortunately our opponents in the senior football withdrew due to the conditions but our boys continued to have matches among themselves giving them a chance to compete for places in upcoming fixtures. Saturday evening gave many the chance to see an excellent victory for England against Ireland in the Six Nations and then some played touch rugby in the Sports Hall whilst others enjoyed a relaxing yoga session, watched a film, played in the Day room or helped Mr Scott with the restoration of the Snatch Land Rover.
On Sunday morning we had a play rehearsal for Joseph whilst those not in the play had a swim, did some shooting in the range, spent time in the work shop or the Day room. After lunch we had the Abberley relays cross-country competition where 10 schools and 150 runners took part in the 26th running of this unique event. It was a great competition with the Abberley runners performing very well and everyone else helping marshal the course and welcoming our visitors.
On Sunday evening we had a lovely Candlemas Chapel service with Brian Hart, a Housemaster from Stowe, delivering the address.
Early nights were then had ready for another busy week at Abberley.
