We are very conscious of being in a position of privilege living and working in a school like Abberley. I think our pupils are exceptionally lucky to be given a start in life that primes them to be confident and optimistic about their future. I am sure that they will go on in their various ways to be big contributors to our wider society, and that is our real legacy. Our childrens’ awareness of and involvement in raising money for charity is a vital ingredient in developing their understanding of responsibility and duty.
At Abberley Hall we are constantly challenging our pupils to think about how people really make a difference to local, national and global issues. We do this in a myriad of ways, from organising fundraising stalls at the local village fete to singing at a children’s AIDS hospice in Kwa Zulu Natal.
The common thread linking every one of our charitable initiatives is a sense of partnership between the school and other organisations, whether they are charities, other schools, churches, community groups or professional bodies.
Abberley Hall is always looking to develop partnerships with organisations which may benefit from use of the school’s expertise, resources and facilities. As such, we are always delighted to hear from schools, clubs and other organisations across the local community.
