News Summary - Week 2 spring 2019
This has been a happy week at school, with lots of positives coming out of the matches last Saturday and Wednesday. The girls in particular have come out of the traps with real purpose and are not taking time to hone their shooting and match winning skills. Not to be outdone the boys have taken heed of my advice to start the term as they mean to carry on, rather than build up slowly, and are playing some really excellent football. If we can convert our high level of possession and some of our chances into goals, we will be a force to be reckoned with.
The biggest excitement of the week was the arrival of a group of young students from the Yinhai Academy, Qingdao, who got here on Thursday evening. They have joined our Form 2 and Remove forms and are already embracing the full-boarding school culture with fantastic spirit – bacon and hash browns seemed to go down well at breakfast today, and they ran the cross-country race yesterday with a tenacity that should not be all that surprising. We haven’t provided the best of weather, though a few snowflakes hinted at what could turn out next week.
I am off now to see how the Joseph rehearsal is going and hope that those off go-karting tomorrow wrap up warm.
