Latest news from the 100s trip to The Alps
Today the children were split into two groups and while one group went off to do the Aquarando activity the other stayed back and walked down to the local town for a visit to the Fromagerie and a walk around town.
The Aquarando was chilly... we walked, scrambled and climbed our way up along a mountain stream. The scenery was incredible! We climbed our way up two short waterfalls, using ropes at one point, and careful guiding by Phillipe. Some parts were much deeper than others, sinking from ankle height to mid thigh in milliseconds and sending hilarious shrieks down the line. It was a good team building test too as some scrambles needed the help of another grabbing an arm for steadiness.
And in true Abberley style, one dunking of cold water was not enough for 11 of them. At 17:30 they requested a swim, claiming it was sad that Mr Lockett hadn’t used the pool yet! After twenty minutes we called it quits but swimming in an open pool surrounded by mountains is a truly magical experience, until a ball hurtles your way and a child shouts “tag!”
A splendid Dinner was devoured this evening and then they enjoyed karaoke in the bar.
