A very warm welcome

Abberley Hall’s Nursery and Pre-Prep is located in the converted stables within the school’s extensive grounds. We teach children from the age of 2 to 7 years and make the most of our beautiful outdoor environment and extensive Prep School facilities.

Children are given a host of opportunities to get involved in a range of activities both inside and outside the classroom. From an early age children at Abberley Hall are taught Music, Drama, French, P.E, ICT, Forest School and Swimming by specialist subject teachers.

In our grounds, we help to nurture independent and confident children. We aim to create a secure academic foundation so children move through to the Prep school with confidence and to create a joy of learning within our happy and friendly school.

We believe that the years between two and seven are some of the most important years in a child’s education. We keep our class sizes small which means that our dedicated teaching staff can help each child to progress at their own rate.

We would be delighted to show you around so that you can experience our friendly environment. If you would like any further information or would like to arrange a visit, please contact admissions@abberleyhall.co.uk.

Preparing for Prep School

During their time in Class 2, the children are gradually encouraged to become more independent to make their transition to the Prep school a smooth and exciting one.

Although we have our own area of the campus at Abberley Hall, pupils in the Nursery and Pre-Prep are familiar with the Prep school grounds and facilities so they feel comfortable.

This is a significant time in the development of our pupils and we aim to make their move up the school as stress-free as possible. Year 3 & 4 (known at Abberley as Form One and Two) are situated in a cosy area of the school referred to as 'The Palace'.

There are three full-time members of staff in Year 3 & 4 who get to know the children well. In the Summer term the children attend a 'Move up' afternoon where they familiarise themselves with the Prep department. There is also a New Pupils Day in June which is a fun event and an opportunity to meet new pupils who may be joining the school.
