Communications have become an essential element of the subject and pupils are all given their own private school e-mail address and have controlled and safe access to the Internet across the network both in and out of lessons.
At Abberley Hall we aim to:
- Ensure all pupils are confident, competent and independent users of ICT.
- Provide pupils with an understanding of how to use the internet and computer systems safely.
- Motivate and inspire pupils using ICT.
- Develop an appreciation of the use of ICT in the context of the wider world.
- Enrich learning in all curriculum areas and promote autonomous study.
- Develop pupil’s ability to use ICT appropriately and choose software suitable for a particular task.
- Provide continuity and progression in the key strands of the Computing National Curriculum as laid out in the 2014 orders.
- Develop ICT skills that can be integrated into all other curriculum areas.
- Encourage problem-solving and investigative work.
- Foster group work, sharing and collaboration between peers.
- Teach pupils to have care and respect for equipment.
