The moral and spiritual welfare of the children is a top priority in the Department, not just as a by-product of the academic syllabus, but also with the specific intention of creating a foundation for adulthood. This reflects the school's wider ethos; to achieve an informal and friendly approach to school life, and to combine this with the discipline which enables all pupils to reach their full potential.

During their time at Abberley Hall each child will have a fully comprehensive, engaging and twenty-first century course within Religious Studies.

Our school offers a scheme of work that includes classic biblical understanding from a Christian perspective, while also considering approaches from other major world faiths.

At the centre of our teaching is the relevance to life in the modern world. Contemporary philosophy and ethics are also of the highest value throughout our entire teaching spectrum. We believe it is through this method of thinking, combined with our own personal religious starting point, that everyday decisions are made on an individual, local and national level. In an ever-changing and multi-cultural world, understanding why and how people think or act has never been more important.
