Service of Remembrance - Sunday 13th November
You are warmly invited to attend our annual Service of Remembrance this Sunday at 10:30am
The order of service will have hymns, readings and anthems for Remembrance. The hymns will be ‘O God, our help in ages past’, ‘God of freedom, God of justice’ and ‘Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son’. The National Anthem will also be sung.
The Chapel Choir will sing the anthems ‘Somebody’s Son’ by Anthony Moore, arranged by Robert Ramskil and ‘In Paradisum’ (from the ‘Requiem’) by David Bednall
The visiting preacher will be Colonel Greg Hughes, OBE.
The Roll of Honour from the ‘Book of Remembrance’ will be read and the Two Minute Silence observed.
“The Book of Remembrance commemorates the Old Boys of this School who, at the call of King and Country, left all that was dear to them, endured hardness, faced danger and finally by the path of Duty and Self-sacrifice passed out of the sight of men into the safe keeping of God, giving up their own lives that others might live in freedom and peace. Let those who come after, see to it that their names be not forgotten”.
Please arrive early to ensure a seat at this very important Service.
Coffee and soft drinks will be served in the Front Hall after the Service.
We look forward to seeing you!
