Snowdonia Camping & Zipworld weekend.
40 children and 10 staff camped spent Saturday night west of Betws-y-Coed on the banks of the river Llugwy. The children put up their tents while the fire was lit and supper prepared. Frances’ birthday cake had travelled well and many pillows and blankets were revealed alongside sleeping bags and roll mats as the campers got ready for a night in Snowdonia. The sun disappeared behind Moel Siobod and was replaced by a glorious full moon. On Sunday the top year went to Zipworld’s Blaenau Ffestiniog site while hundreds, shells and removes went to the fforest site for the forest coaster and tree top nets activities. The top year were great in the Caverns; a mixture of scary via ferrata and ziplining inside a very large and dark slate quarry. The first section was super gnarly with not much to hold on to and slippery logs to scamper across. Each zipline plunged you deeper into the dark abyss until you eventually ended up at the final monkey bar challenge, which Mr Bee, Wilf and Algy made look easy. We got back late on Sunday and slept really well.
