U10s v RGS, v Moor Park
The U10Bs played RGS. It was a good game with the play going back and forth across the pitch. The girls made some excellent passes and their decision making improved throughout the match. We did lose three nil but kept up the tempo throughout the game.
The U10As also played RGS. This was a heavily contested game with the play bouncing back and forth. RGS had some lucky goals and at half time were 4-0 up. We rallied well with Monica continuing to make some excellent saves. The final 5 minutes of the match was very exciting with us pressuring them in their D for the whole time and managing to have 2 short corners in our favour. Unfortunately we did not score from either and finished the match six nil down.
The U10As went to play Moor Park. We played 3 lots of 12 minutes and in the first part we took a while to get going, often watching the ball pass us and forgetting to go and make the tackles. Monica made some excellent saves. In the second part the girls rallied and started to use the wings more. Nancy made some excellent ground on the wing. Tilda and Sophie made headway into Moor Park's D but we didn't score off any of these shots. In the third and final phase Matilda D and Sophie dropped back into defence while Darcey moved into the mid field. After a lot of pressure from our girls in their D, Grace managed to score! Well done! The game finished on a short corner that unfortunately skimmed the edge of the post and just slipped by. Not once did the girls let their heads drop and their resilience is to be commended.
Final Score: Abberley 1-6 Moor Park
