U11 @ IAPS.

What a day! High octane excitement, emotional highs and lows and a result that makes Abberley history.
The U11 team started their campaign against Milton Keynes Prep: we won this with two goals scored by Bella off ferocious strikes on short corners.
Yarlet came next and again the team moved the ball with ease and Bella notched up another goal off some good passing by Sylvie and Emma.
Beachborough came next and this was a tougher game. Minty and Issy came on to give fresh legs and despite chances at both ends the score finished 1-1.
Moreton First and the girls dominated the match with chance after chance falling to Emma and Bella and Lottie and eventually we took the lead. But on a break Moreton managed to pull back a goal and the game finished at 1-1.
The girls where feeling a bit deflated as they needed a win to stand a chance of moving forward in the tournament and after some tactical chat from Miss P the girls faced Warwick Prep with a clear plan.
The girls moved the play from wing to wing and with Francis and Emily spraying the ball out of the defence the girls scored goal after goal. Lottie scored 2, Sylvie 1 and Bella 1. A 4-1 win secured their place in next round.
The opposition was Foremarke Hall. They pressured and pressured our goal from the start, but with stoic defending we kept them out. Extra time and Beth in goal continued to keep us in the game. Full time was 0-0, so shuffles would decide it, just like the Olympics, and the winners went to nationals. Our goalie,Beth saved two and we scored two.... Minty and Emma keeping cool heads to slot them home.
The girls had done it!!! Nationals!!!
The next two matches meant Abberley where placed 3rd in a tournament of 24 teams, losing to RGS The Grange and beating Leicester Grammar.
So Nationals, here come the Abberley Hall U11s.. for the first time put the date in your diary 10th November.
