U11 @ IAPS qualifier
The early bird catches the worm but today we just missed out! We left school at 6:45 and arrived at Millfield with time for a good warmup and team talk. The first game against Westonbirt Prep went well. Some strong play from Emma, Francis and Izzy saw a comfortable win. 4:1. Taunton Prep next, and the game was scrappy. End to end stuff but we just couldn't score and neither could the opposition. Then they scored two quick goals and we could not pull it back. Hazlegrove saw another good win for us at 5-3. Izzy shot well, Hattie, Bella, and Sylvie took interceptions and the game was ours. RGS The Grange from Worcester beat us soundly (5-1) and the girls needed to win the last game to go through to the knockout rounds. We where playing King Edwards Junior School and they needed the win as well to go through. The game was tense, end to end but the opposition scored two quick goals, then Hattie went for an interception and hit heads with the GA. She had to have a visit to medical centre and Mollie came on to save the day. The girls determined play saw us pull back into the game, but with the full time whistle going the final score was 3-2. We just missed out!
Well done girls on putting in the hard work and demonstrating that netball is still thriving at Abberley.
