U11 netball @ Shrewsbury tournament

Apologies for the late report:

On Wednesday the 7th March the U11A team played at the Shrewsbury School Tournament.

Against Packwood Haugh: A fast and furious game but the girls notched an easy win. 6-0

Against White House School: Some lovely play as the girls moved the ball with ease around the court. Another easy win.11-1

Against Prestfelde: The match was described by the Shrewsbury staff as the match of the tournament. The girls were 0-4 down but they dug deep and with our defence frustrating Prestfelde every time they got close to their circle, the sharp shooting of Izzy and Emily brought the came back and it finished at 8-8.

Against Terra Nova: Emily and Lottie combined in attack to notch up another win. 8:1

Against Old Hall: This team had not lost so it was going to be tough. We went behind and despite Francis, Hattie, Sylvie and Bella marking well, their shooters converted most of their chances. We struggled to get past their defenders but we stayed in the game. We just needed to score over half their score to secure second place and girls worked tirelessly for the whole of the 10 minute game. The final score was 3-8. Our only loss and at less than half their score!

We finished third in the tournament but the girls played some beautiful netball today, making me very proud of them and proud of themselves as they played at their best as a team. A great day, well done girls.
