U11B hockey v Hymer College

The U11B team started the game a little disorganised with girls losing their shape and forgetting their own personal role on the pitch, but as the excitement of playing a touring side subsided the girls started to spread out and the game started to flow. The first half saw Molly have several chances but each went wide, and the girls grew in confidence. In the second half Poppy moved to the centre and Meadow moved out to the wing and the deadlock was soon broken when Olivia scored the opening goal from good positioning at the back post. Poppy scored next from an identical position and the girls really started to play some lovely hockey. Harriet, Holly and Daisy defended with grit and determination but on a quick break the visitors managed to score a consolation goal. Molly was awarded player of the match for her exhausting work rate in midfield, but all the girls should be proud of their play today.
