On a freezing afternoon the U13As faced Moor Park for the second time this week. Abberley got off to an awesome start, making fantastic passes and putting pressure on Moor Park’s D. Unfortunately we could not sustain it and once things started to go wrong there was a domino effect which even spread over to the B team’s pitch. Suffice to say, two injuries and tears from the cold meant we lost three of our 8 and then the Bs also had two injuries. Abberley’s passes weren’t strong or accurate enough and we failed to step in front of our opposition to meet the ball allowing Moor Park to run away with a comfortable 5-0 win. The match against Packwood was much more even, however, still missing two of our key players, basic errors were made allowing Packwood to take advantage and win 4-2.
The girls have shown that when they play to their best they are capable of matching the strongest teams and if they could only put away their chances at goal then they could come away with the win they deserve. They have one more chance to reach their potential on Wednesday when we travel to Malvern College for a tournament.
