U13B v Cheltenham College (H)

When Cheltenham arrived with an U13 team rather than their U12s we knew we were going to have to work hard. We certainly tried today and at times we showed moments of brilliant play and potential, particularly in the final quarter.

Elsa and Maria formed a strong pair in the centre court in the third and fourth quarters showing excellent vision and finding space well. As a result of tall opposition, Grace adapted her technique of standing behind people and asking for lobbed ball and made some excellent moves in the circle when playing GA. Kate dodged well and scored some great goals.

In defence, Noor made some fantastic interceptions and was strong under the goal when rebounding, Evelyn increasngly defended her player in the centre third of the court and Mercedes managed to mark the GS out of the game in some of their attacks.

Meanwhile, Aggie’s progress in skill level was once again evident, her ability to read the game has come on brilliantly this term.

So all in all, despite a rather depressing goal tally (Cheltenham 22 Abberley 3), there were a lot of positives to be found in today’s game and plenty to be proud of.
